Dylan Smart

Dylan Smart is an accomplished leader with more than 20 years of experience in construction, business development, workforce development, and Indigenous relations. His career really began with Graham Construction in 2009, where he held progressive leadership roles, including General Foreman and Junior Superintendent, on major construction projects across Saskatchewan.

In 2013, Dylan joined Iceland Concrete, a Saskatchewan-based Indigenous-owned company, where he played a key role in expanding the company's presence across Western Canada's heavy industrial sector. In 2018, he further demonstrated his entrepreneurial drive by founding SmartPath Safety Systems Ltd., a company providing innovative safety solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects across Canada.

As Vice President, Regional Development at NexGen Energy, Dylan leads initiatives that maximize business, employment, training, and procurement opportunities for Local Priority Area communities through NexGen's industry-leading Benefit Agreements. He works closely with Indigenous communities, economic development organizations, contractors, and project partners to ensure the Rook I Project delivers lasting economic and workforce benefits.

Dylan is a proud Métis Citizen and in recognition of his leadership and community contributions, Dylan was inducted into the Order of Gabriel Dumont in 2019. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC), helping advance skilled trades development and workforce readiness across Saskatchewan.
