Dear Members & Friends of the Chamber
This edition we feature Energy and Net Zero news in Canada and the UK ahead of our Nuclear Half Day Event on 4 September sponsored by AtkinsRealis, Hatch, Cameco, the Government of Ontario with the support of the High Commission of Canada, coinciding with the World Nuclear Symposium in London. We anticipate around 100 attendees, including representatives from Canadian and UK nuclear businesses, government officials, the Canadian Nuclear Association, the UK Nuclear Industry Association, as well as academic institutions with nuclear studies. Additionally, the British High Commission in Ottawa is planning to bring a business delegation of Canadian companies to attend the World Nuclear Symposium. They will participate in an info session and a site visit on Tuesday, September 3rd, and will also join us for our event on Wednesday September 4th. Do join us if you can.
Last week we held a Member Networking Breakfast at Canada House, it was great to see so many of you there, and we look forward to welcoming you to our evolving Fall Event Schedule including: Lunch with Tiff Macklem, the Governor of the Bank of Canada (10 Sept) register here; a Tech forum evening panel debate entitled ‘Is Your Business Digitally Fit for the Permacrisis?’ with CGI (12 Sept); a DEI Forum virtual workshop on ‘Leading an Empowered Workforce’ with Eagle’s Flight (16 Sept); and ‘How to use Digital marketing software for business development’ webinar with Steve Mills (23 Sept). Other events are also being finalised including a member engagement event in Q3.

Staff news: after 2.5 years of excellent service to the Chamber, we wish Lisa Selby all the very best as she joins the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in London. She has been a wonderful addition to our Secretariat team and will be greatly missed.
